Calypso

With the Calypso we want to mark a new standard for turntables in the High- End class. It has all the details you normally find only in very expensive turntables. It is a high mass turntable with a 2.4cm thick massive aluminium platter. To further improve the resonance behaviour of the platter, we drill 12 large holes into the platter and fill it with brass cylinders which are decoupled with rubber. These aid in the absorption of vibration from the platter. Also vibration caused by speakers is absorbed very effectively. This new platter allows for smoother and more detailed sound. By adding the cylinders the weight is increased and the inertia of the platter is much greater. With this the wow/flutter gets better. Complex research and development allowed us to invent a bearing which unites exact fit, lack of noise, low friction and long term stability. As bearing bottom we use the High Tech material TIDORFOLON®. This material is a mixture of vanadium, ferrite, Teflon and titanium is absolutely singular in the audio industry. It is noiseless, wear-free and absolutely stable. Running noise is effectively minimized by its high internal absorption. No lubricant is needed here. Our bearing runs dry - without oil. On this bearing we give 10 a year warranty! The external drive motor of the turntable is run by its own electronic control. It is not like any other manufacturers motors which are power-synchronized - and therefore sensitive to the fluctuations of your AC current. The Alpha Power Supply completely decouples your motor from your wall voltage, making the Acoustic-Signature turntable invulnerable to AC power fluctuations. This is achieved through a series of refinements. First the Alpha reduces your wall voltage from 115V/230 V to 36 V, cleaning up the signal and putting it into a more manageable form. The second step converts your AC power to DC current, which is less susceptible to "line noise." The Alpha then uses the DC current and its own built in precision oscillator to produce a perfectly clean sine wave of 24V. This perfect output wave is then used to power the motor, resulting in a clean, steady spin. The Alpha is impervious to the negative effects household and computer appliances can have on a turntable drive.
We use only aluminium to produce the CALYPSO, no plastic! The platter weighs more than 4kg and has resonance damping on the back of it. The chassis is made out of 50mm thick aluminium and with the heavy platter this results in an authority and a deep and clear bass sound that only high mass turntables can produce. More than 90 % of the parts are manufactured on our own CNC machines to make sure every Calypso is exactly the same. There are also some options available. served by the aforementioned combo as to be unbelievable in every respect. This is a combination that performs well about its asking price!.
I have had several turtable owners over to hear the Calypso turntable and they have all commented on it superiority to their own tables. I do not know why more reviews have not been done on them in this country.
